What Customers Say About Skullcandy G.I. Stereo Headphones - Rasta:

I don't know why these get a less than good review. Either way, great value for a great item. I wear these when I'm trying to go to sleep and don't want the earbuds sticking in my ears.

I had a set of low riders that were horrible. I also really like the independent volume control on the cord as well as the single cord from the left headphone. I've owned my set for a while now and I really like them.

Movies sound pretty good too. These aren't noise cancelling headphones but I personally don't have the need for a 'noise cancelling' set. The sound quality from my iPod touch is great.

If you have an iPod touch like I do, you know what it's like trying to control the volume on the iPod (unless you have the newest version). Highly recommended.

I get more bass out of the Apple earbuds that came with my iPod than I do out of these cans.On the plus side, wearing these around your neck with the earpieces pointed up is kinda like having a personal sound system on your neck, which is kinda cool, I suppose. They've undergone several repairs; both swivel connectors broke right off within a month and now the earpiece is falling entirely off the hinges which is something I can't fix with superglue. They look pretty cool and fit pretty nicely, but these things don't sound the greatest AT ALL if you're looking for sound quality. They are very clear and you can hear your music well, but they're WEAK. These things sit at home on my desk for late night listening and gaming, not much else.Spend $50 on something else; I might recommend the Hesh model instead. If you're looking for a solid investment in a set of cans, I implore you to look elsewhere.

These headphones are really good. Just a bit squeaky sometimes because of the plastic but the sound quailty is very good for the price.

These sound okay, but their is an immense pressure around my ears, go with the Hesh headphones by skullcandy they sound better, are cheaper, and are much more comfortable

Even the $20 MDR-V150 and $40 MDR-V300 sound a lot better than these things.FULL REVIEW:After my dog chewed up my Sony headphones I went looking to purchase a new pair, this time circumaural ones. This purchase however was not the case. The sound quality is leaps and bounds better than the skullcandy ones and about $70 I think I paid. Parts that were covered under the padding weren't even glued or screwed, it was taped with clear scotch tape.Unless you really, really need to look young and hip, look elsewhere for your next headphone purchase. The headphones felt really cheapy. Better quality headphones with metal parts such as the Sony MDR-V6 are competely silent to the outside world when on your head (outside world is also silent to you).

As business classes tell you 1 satisfied customer might tell 1 person but 1 dissatisfied customers will tell 10 others about their experience. Like I said, cheap plastic. The plastic thin, and fragile. Perfect for a young early twenties guy right. They were pretty much weak speakers.

I read mixed reviews about it, but I figured I'd give it a try. or Sennheiser or something other than Skullcandy. What I discovered was more cheap, thin plastic. Invest in Sony MDR-V6 (I now own). After just a short 4-5 months of use (took it to school every now and then, in the car traveling a hand full of times, mostly used in my room on my computer)the right side earpiece snapped off. Usually in my prior experiences the product has been fine, acceptable, and very good. At $20 more than the current price of the Skullcandy GI ($50) the MDR-V6 would be well worth your investment. People who say the sound quality is great, probably never heard anything other than 10 dollar in-earbuds, or worse, the 30 dollar iPod earbuds.

Pros:Looks cool.comes with a bottle opener in headphone pocket.Cons:cheap constructioncheap sound, though better than budget earbuds, and $30 Apple earbuds (way, way better than those actually). Conclusion:Stay far away. I take really good care of my stuff, sans letting my dog have access to a pair of headphones to chew, and I really never had anything electronic break before. Since they really were no longer wearable I decided to take them compeletely apart, and look at the insides. I recommend the Sony MDR-V6 (my current accessory). The bass sounded fake, hollow, and synthesized. It has metal hinges and housing, and what ever little plastic is on them feels and looks like titanium compared to the cheap plastic of the Skullcandy. I had friends say that their skullcandy headphones sounded really good, and they looked cool. Read the reviews of the MDR-V6 on here, just that should change your mind about these headphones.

Paint job on the plastic looked worse than spray painting on your car. If you were listening to the headphones on max volume, everyone else was listening too. (what I paid for the GI at the time, but it's cheaper now). If you can splurge on the MDR-7506 ($95) the V6 and 7506 are amazing quality at very cheap prices, there's no need to spend $400 on headphones to listen to your mp3s.
